Aces 2-4 Panthers

We start the final set of matches before the Christmas break at the Newbold where mid-table side Aces who host fourth placed Panthers who are looking to chase down the Vulcans in third. 


(Match 1) Dave Belfitt 0-3 John Lieber

Panthers Captain John Lieber kicked off the night with the darts for the away side as he was up against Dave Belfitt of the Aces. Lieber started brightly taking the first leg, he then took it up a notch doubling the lead with a 17 darter, Belfitt couldn't match Lieber as he strode to victory in the third and gave a captain's performance to open the Panthers account for the night in which also guaranteed they weren't to be defeated.


(Match 2) Trev Tye 3-0 Mick Hulley

Trev Tye stepped up to the oche looking to equalise for the Aces against Mick Hulley in a game which saw Tye start the better of the two players taking the lead with a 19 dart finish. The second leg in which Hulley had the darts but Tye kept up the pressure which he eventually broke the throw to set himself up for the win in which he did with a 20 darter to give himself a 3-0 win which levelled the scores at one each between the two teams.


(Match 3) Andy Umney 3-0 Russ Simons

In the third match of the evening with the scores level Andy Umney and Russ Simons squared up looking to put their teams ahead. Simons had throw in which Umney broke straightaway to gain the advantage and he wasn't going to let it go as Umney quickly went two up. In the third leg with the winning line in sight Umney managed a 15 dart leg against the the throw to win the match and turn it around for the Aces but with just one to play.


(Match 4) Ian Speed 1-3 Ryan Goffin

In the final game "The Manic" Ryan Goffin was looking to seal the victory for the Panthers against captain Ian Speed in what was a close contest. Goffin broke throw in the opening leg to take the lead, Speed hit back immediately with a maximum and a ton finish as well as a 20 darter to equalise. Goffin responded with an 18 dart leg making it three consecutive breaks of throw. In the fourth leg with "The Manic" throwing for the match he pulled out his best leg of the night finishing with a 15 darter to wrap up the win for the Panthers in a result which saw them climb up to third on the table.Mick woods and Pat Meeson rounded things off for the visitors

Over at Frecheville it was the turn of the runaway leaders and still with an 100% record Black Eagles taking on the Vulcans who have lost just one out of the last ten.


(Match 1) Matt Grey 0-3 John Walton

We start with former World Champion John "Boy" Walton for the leaders facing Matt Grey. Walton raced out of the traps with a 14 dart leg. In the second on the Grey throw "John Boy" rattled in a 21 darter to go two up and with it throwing for the opening match. Walton finished off cooly hitting a 180 and a 15 dart leg to put the Eagles one up. 


(Match 2) Dave Ward 1-3 Pete Daffin

In the second match Vulcans Dave Ward faced "Super Daff's" Pete Daffin. Ward started with the darts in the opening leg which saw Daffin break with a 17 darter, "Super Daff's" followed it up in the second leg taking it in 18 darts to double the lead. Ward managed a mini fight back grabbing a leg with a solid 21 darts but Daffin managed to finish it off in the fourth claiming victory with a 19 darter to double the leaders lead.

(Match 3) Jim Smith 1-3 Jelger Tuinstra

The third match of the evening saw Vulcans captain Jim Smith looking to give the Vulcans a glimmer of hope facing Jelger Tuinstra. The match started with Tuinstra with the darts in which he held to take the early lead, Smith equalised soon after to level it up, Jelger kept his cool and rifled in a max and finishing the third leg in 19 darts to go 2-1 up which left Smith throwing to stay in the game. Jelger managed to claim victory in four legs to give the Eagles victory.


(Match 4) Steve Whyers 1-3 Jason Burkhill

With the Black Eagles three up it was down to the captain and founder of the league Jason Burkhill to finish the job and standing in his way was Steve Whyers. The captain took the lead in the first leg with a break of throw and managed to hold in the following leg to go two up, Whyers fought back in the third making it 2-1 but the captain coasted to victory with his best leg of the night finishing with a 20 dart leg to wrap up a 3-1 win and give his side the victory with one to play.


(Match 5) Phil Lambert 0-3 Owen Cubitt

In the final game Phil Lambert was looking to make the scoreline more respectable as he faced Owen "Ice" Cubitt. It was youngster who started the better taking the opening leg, "Ice" upped the ante in the second as he hit a 180 followed by a 19 darter against the throw to take full control of the match, In the third and what was the final leg of the night young Cubitt put the icing on the cake as he sailed to victory and gave the Black Eagles a convincing win to extend their lead at the top of the pile.

At the Woodbourne Hotel the Warriors who find themselves bottom of the table before tonight's action host The Sausages who are unbeaten in the last four with two wins and two draws.


(Match 1) Angie Brittle 0-3 Shaun Greenfield 

In the opening match of the night  Warriors Angie Brittle faced Shaun "Croc" Greenfield." "Croc" kicked off with a steady leg to take the lead. In the second leg Greenfield managed to break the throw confidently to put himself in complete control which showed in the third as he took out the winning double to comfortably take victory and open the night with the Sausages taking the lead.


(Match 2) Jodie Bruce 1-3 Ben Beardmore 

It was "Boom time" in game two with the Sausages Ben Beardmore taking on Jodie Bruce. "Boom" broke throw in the first leg to ease any nerves, Beardmore then raced into a 2-0 lead with a hold with victory in sight Bruce managed to win the third leg to give herself a bit of hope but Ben managed to secure the win in four to double the Sausages lead.

(Match 3) Paul Brittle 3-0 Steve Ewington 

In match three up stepped the Warriors captain Paul "The Undertaker" Brittle who was looking to keep his side in the contest taking on Steve Ewington. "The Undertaker" started the better and managed to break in the opening leg. In the second Brittle took out a 19 darter to take control and he followed that up with a controlled display which gave him a 3-0 win which pulled his team back in the game.


(Match 4)  Nicola Warne 3-0 Pete Bell

With the Warriors on the comeback trail it was up to the Cumberland Landlord Pete Bell to stop them in their tracks against a tricky opponent in Nicola Warne and things didn't get off to a good start as Warne took the first leg on throw. In the second Warne continued to put pressure on Bell and he wilted as Warne broke with some very good consistent darts to set herself for the victory which she secured with legs of 24, 23 and 22 darts which showed her consistency throughout to level the scores with one to play.

(Match 5) Steve Newton 3-1 Matt Pryor

In the last match of the night with the scores level but the Warriors short. Steve Newton was looking to rescue a draw against Matt Pryor. In the opening legs the pair were equal holding throw then in the third leg Newton found an opening and broke throw to give him a slight edge and with victory in sight Newton finished off Pryor in a solid performance to rescue a draw for the Warriors which kept them in touch with the teams directly above them in the table.

Over to the other room in the Woodbourne were the Wolves who were ninth taking on eighth placed Academicals who had one short over the Christmas period with nine points separating the two before the match. 


(Match 1) Chris Keane 3-1 Jack Lewis 

In the opening game of the night saw Chris Keane making his debut for the Wolves take on Jack Lewis. Keane made a good start for his new team as he broke throw in the first leg and then managing to hold to double his lead. Lewis made a fight of it as he got a leg on the board but Keane held out and earned a 3-1 win to put his new team one up.


(Match 2) Ricardo Cruz 3-1 Jamie Barrington 

Up next was Jamie Barrington looking to equalise for the Academicals up against Ricardo Cruz. The opening exchanges both men held their own throw waiting for a chance, following the third leg which Cruz took out the double to go 2-1 up he waiting for an opening on the Barrington throw which he got and took full advantage to grab victory to double the Wolves lead.


(Match 3) Simon Sawford 2-3 Thomas Wright 

Third match of the night was Wolves Simon Sawford looking to wrap up the win early doors taking on Thomas Wright. Sawford kicked off with a 20 darter against the throw which laid down a marker to his opponent to which Wright responded with back to back legs to put Sawford on the back foot. In the fourth leg saw another equaliser this time for Sawford to force the game into a decider to which Wright held out to pinch a 3-2 win to pull a game back for the Academicals.

(Match 4) Tom Sawford 3-0 Jonny Kirk

"Shooter" Tom Sawford was up for the Wolves in the fourth match looking to win his team the game standing in his way was Jonny Kirk. "Shooter" had the darts and he took the first leg to settle himself into the game. In the following leg Sawford stepped up his game which was good enough to break the Kirk throw which makes him throw for the match. In the third leg Tom didn't rest as he continued the pressure and finished off hitting the winning double to give the Wolves a vital win which kept them in touching distance of their opponents in the table.


(Match 5) Stephen Naisbitt 0-3 Max Orange

In the final match of the night Max Orange was looking to make the score more respectable as he faced Stephen Naisbitt and he kicked in right from the start taking the opening leg which then followed a break of throw which put Orange two up. In the third and final leg of the night Orange took out a 19 dart leg to round off the night which made the scoreline respectable and which also closed the gap between the two teams to nine points.

(Match 1) Danny Hall 1-3 Neil Bradley

We start the nights action between Academicals Danny Hall against Aces Neil Bradley, Hall opened up with a break of throw to give himself the perfect start but it wasn't to last as Bradley hit back hitting a maximum then in the same leg took out a 96 finish on his way to a 3-1 victory to put the Aces one up.







(Match 2) Adam Warner 3-0 Trev Tye

The following match saw Trev Tye for the Aces looking to double the lead for his team take on Adam Warner. The game started with Warner holding throw to take the lead, he put more pressure on Tye in the second leg throwing a 140 to set up tops to finish which he cooly slotted home in two for a 20 dart leg and double his lead. Warner finished Tye off in the third leg on his throw to equalise for the Academicals.


(Match 3) Max Orange 2-3 Ian Speed

The third game of the night and with the scores level Max Orange and captain Ian Speed toed the oche for a chance to put their team in the lead. Orange started hitting twenties with ease as he set up a finish in 12 darts but just missed tops for a 15 dart leg but managed to settle for a 20 darter to go in front. The following leg saw Speed take it with a 20 dart leg of his own to get the throw back and level up at one each. In the third leg Speed was the first to hold his throw in the match which put him 2-1 up but this time it was Orange who pegged his opponent back to set up a deciding leg with Speed having the darts took full advantage and claimed victory in the fifth in a very even contest between the two players and it put the Aces back in front.


(Match 4) Ed McCosh 1-3 Matt Needham

The captain of the Academicals Ed McCosh was to follow in the fourth game of the evening trying to bring his team back level as he took on Matt Needham. The captain had the darts to start but it was Needham who quickly broke throw to go one up, Needham followed that up by holding to double the advantage, McCosh managed a leg back in the third to give himself a glimmer of hope but Needham wrapped up the win with his best leg of the match finishing with a 15 darter to seal a 3-1 victory.


(Match 5) Oli Newall 3-1 Dave Belfitt

With the Aces 3-1 up after four matches, Dave Belfitt was searching for the overall victory for his team taking on Oli Newall in a game which could've gone either way. The opening exchanges saw both men break throw in three consecutive legs which gave Newall the 2-1 lead which then seemed to give himself the confidence to finish off the game which he did with aplomb in a match which saw three successive double one finishes in the four legs played which showed that nerves played a big part for both players.


(Match 6) Matt Royle 1-3 Mick Smith

In the final and deciding game of the nights play Matt Royle for the Academicals was looking to rescue what would be a invaluable draw against Mick Smith who was looking to win it for the Aces. Smith opened the scoring against throw to take the lead, in the second leg Smith kept the pressure on and doubled his account, Royle conjured up a mini fight back on his throw but Smith finally finished off his opponent cooly to grab a 3-1 win and give the Aces a 4-2 victory overall.

(Match 1) Carl Wilkinson 3-0 Russ Lockwood 

All Stars Carl Wilkinson kicked us off against Russ Lockwood who had the darts for the visitors, The first leg started with Wilkinson throwing some quality tungsten breaking throw with a 16 darter to go in front, Carl had the darts in the following leg which he took out in 17 to double the lead but the best was yet to come in leg three which saw Wilkie win it with a 14 dart leg and he threw in a max for good measure to give the All Stars the lead.

(Match 2) Taylor Greaves 3-2 Steve Stacey

Steve Stacey stepped up next for the Vulcans looking for an equaliser as he faced debutant Taylor Greaves as both men played some good darts. Taylor couldn't have got off to a better start for his new team holding throw in 20 darts to take the lead, Stacey equalised soon after but then Taylor took out a 15 darter to take a 2-1 lead but Stacey wasn't finished as he held throw for the second time with a max and a 17 dart leg to level again. In the decider Taylor started the better with the darts and he always had the advantage as he took victory on his first game for the All Stars finishing off with a 20 dart leg to double his new teams lead.


(Match 3) Darren Johnson 3-0 Anthony Warne

PDC player Darren "Dynamite" Johnson was third on for the All Stars as he was looking to put another dent in the Vulcans hopes of getting anything from this game as he played Anthony Warne. "Dynamite" showed his class as soon as the first dart was thrown breaking with a 13 darter to set up the rest of the game, Johnson quickly went two up in 15 darts hitting a max to go with it. In the third leg Daz showed no mercy to Warne as he finished him off with a steady 18 darts to put his team three up with three to play.


(Match 4) Tony Hull 1-3 Daz Layden

In match four Tony Hull and Daz Layden squared up, with his team on the ropes Layden knew he had to get something from this game and it showed in the way he started hitting the big scores breaking in the opening leg with an 18 darter, Layden quickly went two up hitting a 20 dart leg continuing the pressure, in the third leg Hull managed to put his mark on the game pulling it back to 2-1 in 21 darts to try and put Layden under pressure but Layden was more than up to it as he secured the win finishing off with another 20 dart leg to keep the Vulcans in contention with two to play.


(Match 5) Tony Harper 3-0 Chris Grey

The fifth match saw Chris Grey with a chance to force a decider playing Tony Harper who was looking to give the All Stars victory, and as the first darts were thrown in anger Harper was in no mood to sacrifice anything as he broke in the opening leg to release the pressure which showed as he doubled his lead hitting a 21 darter setting himself up to win the game convincingly with a 20 dart leg to wrap up the win for the All Stars with one to play.

(Match 6) Kenny Hoult 3-0 Matt Gray

In the final game Kenny Hoult of the All Stars put in a good performance against Matt Gray, Hoult had the darts which he went one up with then after that he settled into a rythm  which saw him follow up with a break of throw in 20 darts and then wrapping up a good victory for the All Stars finishing with a 21 dart leg winning with a 104 checkout to finish off the Vulcans.

(Match 1) John Walton 3-1 Pete Bramley 

The night kicked off with former World Champion John "Boy" Walton taking on the Railwaymen's Pete "Perfect" Bramley. John "Boy" hit the ground running taking out back to back 19 dart legs to go 2-0 up. Bramley pulled a leg back on his throw but just couldn't manage to break Walton as the former World Champ took a 3-1 victory to put the leaders ahead.


(Match 2) Greg Beard 3-0 Mark Gurran

In the second match of the evening Mark Gurran stepped up for the Railwaymen as he faced "Big Shot" Greg Beard. The match started well for Beard as he took the first leg in 20 darts, In the second leg on the Gurran throw "Big Shot" managed a break winning in 19 to double his advantage and in turn set himself up to throw for the match which he did in fine style to put the Black Eagles 2-0 up.


(Match 3) Steve Briggs 3-0 Steve Marfleet 

Making his debut for the Railwaymen in the third match of the night was Steve Marfleet with the darts as he faced a very tough to beat Steve Briggs. In the opening leg it showed as Briggs broke throw with an 18 dart leg. In the second leg Briggs showed his consistency by going two up with another 18 darter to put pressure on Marfleet and it payed off as Briggs finished off the debutant in the third leg to make it 3-0 to the Black Eagles at the halfway stage.


(Match 4) Pete Daffin 3-1 Martin Scott

"Super Daff's' Pete Daffin was up next for the Black Eagles against Martin Scott. Daffin threw first and held with an 18 dart leg to kick things off, Scott replied with a 17 darter to equalise. In the third leg "Super Daff's" continued to pursue that treble 20 and took the lead again with a max and another 18 dart leg and he wasn't to falter this time against the darts in the fourth leg Daffin managed to cross the finishing line winning it in 21 darts to secure a 3-1 win and give the leaders the victory with two to play.

(Match 5) Jelger Tuinstra 1-3 Jordan Payne

Railwaymen's youngster Jordan Payne was looking to pull something out of the hat for the Railwaymen as he faced Jelger Tuinstra. Payne with the darts took the lead hitting a 20 dart leg, Tuinstra replied with a great 15 darter to level the scores, Payne countered back in the third as he went back ahead this time achieving it in 21 darts which set the platform for victory as Jelger threw first to stay in the game Payne kept his composure and managed to take out the winning double to pull one back for the Railwaymen.

(Match 6) Owen Cubitt 3-2 Gav Pilling

The last match of the night saw another youngster in action as Black Eagles Owen "Ice" Cubitt faced a tester in taking on Gav Pilling in a match which could've gone either way. Pilling broke throw in the first leg, young Cubitt replied in kind to make it one each, In the third Pilling managed to break the Ice's throw again which allowed him to throw for the match, Owen showed maturity beyond his years as he kept his cool to level at 2-2 hitting a 19 dart leg which meant he had the darts in the decider which beforehand saw him lose it twice, but not this time as he finally won on throw at the decisive time of asking to win by three legs to two which gave his team a 5-1 victory to keep the points gap at the top the same.

(Match 1) Mick Hulley 3-0 Angie Brittle 

Mick Hulley of the Panthers kicked off the night against Angie Brittle. Brittle started ok on her throw as she got down to the double first but it was Hulley who kept his nerve and took the lead, from then on it was all Hulley as he held to go 2-0 up and then in the third leg sensing the victory he got to the double first which he took out with ease and gave the Panthers the lead in the opening match.


(Match 2) John Lieber 3-0 Jodie Bruce

With the Warriors one down, Jodie Bruce stepped up to play the captain John Lieber. Things didn't get off to a good start for Jodie as Lieber quickly went in front, Bruce had a chance with the darts in the second leg but Lieber quickly diminished her hopes and broke to go two up, Lieber weren't going to rest as he continued to dominate and finally got the win by three legs to nil to double the Panthers lead.


(Match 3) Russ Simons 3-1 Ian Webster 

In the third game of the night Russ Simons played some very good darts with his opponent Ian Webster doing very well to get a leg on the board to keep in touch. The game started with Webster throwing first but that didn't bother Simons as he took the opening leg in 19. Webster bounced back in the second leg to equalise to get the throw back, even still Simons wasn't worried as he ploughed in an 18 dart leg to take a 2-1 lead and throw for the match which he managed to do hitting a 180 finishing in 21 darts to secure a 3-1 win which he also hit no less than four 140's which shows the pressure he put Webster under throughout the match.

(Match 4) John Schultz 1-3 Nicola Warne 

The Panthers were cruising as we head into match four. Up next for the Warriors was Nicola Warne as she played John Schultz looking to give her team a glimmer of a comeback but things didn't get off to the best of starts as Schultz took the first leg on throw, Warne managed a quick response then following a break of throw by Warne she took the lead and with it a chance to throw for the match to pull a game back in which she did as the winning doubled sailed in to give Warne a 3-1 victory and stopped the slide for the Warriors.







(Match 5) Ryan Goffin 3-0 Paul Brittle 

With Warne giving the Warriors a glimmer of hope in this Woody derby it was up to captain Paul Brittle to keep his side in with a shout in match five as he played Ryan "The Manic" Goffin. Brittle had the darts to start but couldn't take advantage as Goffin took the first leg. The following leg saw "The Manic" hit a 20 dart leg to go two up with Brittle to throw again to stay in the game, Goffin capitalised on his opponents poor start to give the Panthers the overall victory with one to play.

(Match 6) Pat Meeson 3-2 Steve Newton 

In the final game of the night the Woodbourne landlord Pat Meeson stepped up to face Steve Newton in a close run match. The first leg saw the first break of throw which saw Newton take the lead. Meeson retaliated with back to back legs to which Newton responded well by equalising and taking the game to a decider to end the night. The landlord had the darts and he took control of the leg to which he finished it off taking out the double to give his team a 5-1 victory.

(Match 1) Marc Ellis 3-1 Lee Slack

We end this weeks round-up at the Cumberland with the Sausages against the Wizards. Up first was "Tiny" Marc Ellis opening for the home side facing Wizards captain Lee Slack. The match started with Slack going in front but then "Tiny" equalised to bring the game level. The third leg saw the first break of the evening with Ellis taking the lead and with it throwing for the opening match in which he did with a coolness about him to give the Sausages the lead.


(Match 2) Ben Dolman 3-0 Mandy Slack

Up next was Mandy Slack for the Wizards as she faced Ben Dolman, In the opening leg Dolman took the lead with the darts, Slack was looking to equalise in the next leg but it didn't go her way as Dolman broke to go 2-0 up and had the darts in the third leg which was no trouble for him as he ran riot to win in three and effectively give the Sausages victory after two matches.


(Match 3) Matt Pryor 3-0 Andrew Spencer

Matt Pryor and Andrew Spencer went head to head in match three on a game which saw Pryor break in leg one to go in front, Pryor looked at ease with his performance as he took the second leg with the darts and as Spencer was looking for a way back in the contest Pryor took the third and final leg which saw him win 3-0 to keep the Sausages rolling on. 


(Match 4) Kev Blogg 3-2 Michael Slack 

In the final game of a short night at the Cumberland the home team's Kev Blogg and Michael Slack played out the closest match which saw both men hold throw to start with, then it was Slack first to blink as he broke to take a 2-1 lead to give himself two chances to win it as well as throwing for one of the legs too, but unfortunately for him Blogg hit back to throw for the match in which after a nervy start he finished with precision to give the Sausages a 6-0 victory.

Allstars win thriller over Railwaymen

Week 14 started with the Railwaymen with five wins out of the last six take on second placed All Stars who are on a run of seven consecutive victories so something had to give in this close game.


(Match 1) Mark Gurran 1-3 Carl Wilkinson

The night started with Railwaymen's Mark Gurran face a tricky tie against Carl Wilkinson. Carl had the darts and took the lead in the opening leg to which Gurran responded with a 20 dart leg to get himself off the mark, with the opening legs shared, Wilkinson put a 15 darter on the board to edge back in front. In the fourth leg Gurran threw to stay in the game but Wilkinson started the leg better and finished off the game in 20 solid darts to give himself a 3-1 victory which gave the All Stars the lead.


(Match 2) Jordan Payne 0-3 Terry Temple

Terry Temple
Second game on saw one of the All Stars PDC player Terry Temple take on young maestro Jordan Payne. Temple raced in front breaking the Payne throw with a 15 dart leg. The next leg saw Temple hold to double the advantage which left Payne with a mountain to climb which was just too much for him to do as Temple took victory in 21 darts in the third leg to double the advantage.


Tony Hull
(Match 3) Pete Bramley 1-3 Tony Hull

Pete "Perfect" Bramley was looking to keep the Railwaymen in with a chance of victory with his side two down he knew he had to beat a tough competitor in Tony Hull and he got off to the perfect start as Bramley took out a 21 darter against the throw to take the lead. Hull showed his class in the following leg equalising in 15 darts to break back and level at one each. Hull then took the lead for the first time holding to go 2-1 up. On the Bramley throw Hull siezed the opportunity and won the match in a 19 dart leg to secure the win and put All Stars three up with three to play.


(Match 4) Martin Scott 3-2 Jonny Daniels

With the All Stars running riot after three matches the Railwaymen needed to get a grip of the game. Martin Scott was the man to do just that as he took on Jonny Daniels. With the throw Scott went in front with a solid 20 dart leg to open the scoring, Scott upped a gear on the Daniels throw doubling his lead in 15 darts. That gave Daniels the kick he needed and responded well breaking back quickly then in the fourth set himself up for a 21 dart leg which he finished convincingly to force the game into a decider for Daniels to win it for his team but Scott had the darts which he took full advantage of and didn't let Daniels in as he secured the victory in 18 darts in the decider which pulled a game back for the Railwaymen who still had hopes of a draw.


Gav Pilling
(Match 5) Gav Pilling 3-2 Tony Harper

Gav Pilling and Tony Harper played out another thriller in this topsy turvy contest. It started with Pilling breaking throw then managing to hold it to go 2-0 up. In what looked like a convincing win, Tony Harper had other ideas and turned the game on it's head hitting a 19 dart leg followed by a 20 against the throw to equalise forcing the match into another last leg shootout in which Harper had the darts but after a nervy deciding leg it was Pilling that hit the winning double to keep the Railwaymen in the game going into the final match of the night.


(Match 6) Andy Bradbury 0-3 Darren Johnson

The deciding match of the night saw All Stars PDC player Darren "Dynamite" Johnson looking to seal it for his team take on Railwaymen's Andy Bradbury who was looking to complete the comeback and snatch a draw. Bradbury had the darts in the opening leg but "DJ" managed to break to go in front, in the second leg "Dynamite" blasted himself into a 2-0 lead with a 19 dart leg to set himself up on the Bradbury throw. Johnson showed his class in the third against the throw again he rounded off the night taking the victory in 16 darts and put in a 180 for good measure to give the All Stars victory and well played to the Railwaymen too who pushed them all the way.

Sixth played fifth at the the Cumberland as the Panthers take on the Sausages with just five points separating the teams at the start of play it promised to be a tight affair.


(Match 1) Ben Beardmore 3-0 Mick Hulley 

First match of night saw "Boom" open proceedings for the home side as he faced Mick Hulley. Beardmore took the lead against the darts, throwing a 21 dart leg to start the night off. Hulley did respond with a maximum to try and put "Boom" under a bit of pressure but it was to no affect as Beardmore took a 3-0 victory to open the scoring for the Sausages.


Russ Simons
(Match 2) Ben Dolman 0-3 Russ Simons

Russ Simons was next up for the Panthers searching for an equaliser against Ben Dolman. Simons kicked off well against the darts and broke Dolman to take the lead. Simons then took his game up a notch to double his advantage with a 20 dart leg. With Simons 2-0 up and in fine form, Dolman couldn't get near as Simons smashed in another 20 darter to take a clinical victory which overall saw him hit 8 throws of 100 plus points in 3 legs of darts to equalise for the Panthers.


(Match 3) Shaun Greenfield 0-3 John Schultz

With the scores tied after two games. Shaun "Croc" Greenfield was next on for the Sausages as he faced a tough opponent in John Schultz. In the opening leg Schultz went ahead on throw, "Croc" was looking to quickly bounce back but Schultz had others ideas as he doubled the lead with a 21 darter against the throw and take full control of the game. In the third leg Schultz finished off Croc with the darts to overturn the deficit to put the Panthers in the lead.


Cumberland Sausages Team
(Match 4) Pete Bell 0-3 John Lieber 

It was the landlord versus the captain in match four of the night as the Sausages Pete Bell looking to level for his team against John Lieber who was aiming to put clear daylight between them. Bell started the opening leg which saw Lieber blast in a 17 darter to break and open the scoring. In the second leg Lieber threw consistently to double his lead on his throw taking it out in 20 darts. Bell knew he had to hold his throw to even stand a chance but the relentless Lieber finished him off with a captain's performance taking the game on the Bell throw winning in 19 darts to put the Panthers 3-1 up with two to play.


(Match 5) Kev Blogg 3-2 Pat Meeson 

It was the turn of the opposition landlord next up as Pat Meeson for the Woodbourne looking to win it for the Panthers took on Kev Blogg. In a game of two halves. Meeson started the brighter taking a 2-0 lead breaking throw in the second leg to throw for the match and win it for the Panthers but Blogg had other ideas and finally got going managing to break back and throw to level up which he did to bring the game into a deciding leg and keep his team in with a shout. In a nervy final leg with Meeson throwing for the match, Blogg continued the form which brought him level and Blogg finished off the comeback to steal it three legs to two to force another decider in this weeks set of matches.


(Match 6) Steve Ewington 3-0 Mick Wood

In the final game decider Steve Ewington and Mick Wood faced off in a contest which saw Ewington with the darts take the lead to get an edge. The following leg saw Wood with the darts looking to equalise but Ewington kept the pressure on and took a 2-0 lead with a 21 dart leg and a maximum to throw for the game and rescue a draw for the Sausages in which he did in convincing fashion to finish the night off which kept the two teams as you were in the table.

Over to the Woodbourne as two teams collide at the bottom it was basement team Warriors at home to an Academicals team looking to keep their distance from the others below with both teams still searching for that elusive fist win.


George Francis
(Match 1) Sandra Webster 0-3 George Francis 

The opening game saw Warriors Sandra Webster take on George Francis. The Academicals threw first which Francis took advantage of and won the first leg, on the Webster throw Francis managed to effectively take the darts mid-way through the leg which led him to the double first which he took out and went 2-0 up thus throwing for the match. In the third leg Francis wrapped up the win which put the Academicals in the lead.


(Match 2) Jodie Bruce 0-3 Tom Wright

Up next saw Tom Wright looking to double the Academicals lead up against Jodie Bruce. In the opening leg Wright felt confident as he broke throw to take the lead, In the second leg with the darts Wright managed a ton checkout which led him to the victory which he rounded off in the third leg which doubled his teams advantage.


(Match 3) Nicola Warne 2-3 James Goodhall

Nicola Warne and James Goodhall played out a evenly matched game in the third one of the night. Goodhall set off well winning the opening two legs breaking Warne in the process, Warne hit back with a break of her own then managed to tie level bringing the game into a fifth leg. In the decider Warne managed to take advantage of throwing first and hit the winning double which was unlucky for Warne after making a good comeback but she just got pipped to the post in the final leg which put the Academicals three up at the halfway stage.


(Match 4) Ian Webster 3-2 Jonny Kirk

In the fourth match of the night with Academicals three up it looked glum for the Warriors as Ian Webster was looking to grab a game back against Jonny Kirk who had the opportunity to win it there and then. The opening two legs saw both men break throw. Webster was the first to hold to go 2-1 up but Kirk fought back and levelled. In the deciding leg it looked a cert for Kirk to take victory after throwing first but Webster managed to get a firm grip on the leg pushing his-self infront and hitting the victorious double which gave him a crucial 3-2 win which set the ball rolling for the Warriors for things to come. 


(Match 5) Steve Newton 3-0 Jamie Barrington

With Warriors on the comeback trail it was up to debutant Jamie Barrington to stop them in their tracks but he faced a good competitor in Steve Newton, Barrington threw first but Newton quickly showed what he can do breaking throw to go in front. In the second leg Newton managed to keep the momentum going which led to him doubling the lead. In the third leg Barrington had a chance again with the darts to put a leg on the board but once again Newton showed good spirit which led him to win rather comfortable in the end to keep the Warriors in touch.


Woodbourne Warriors
(Match 6) Paul Brittle 3-0 Danny Hall

The final game saw "The Undertaker" Paul Brittle looking to complete an amazing comeback for the home side against Danny Hall. Brittle started off with a 21 dart leg to take the lead. "The Undertaker" took that confidence into the second leg as he broke the Hall throw to give him an opportunity to throw for the match and rescue a draw for the Warriors. In the third leg Brittle finished Hall off winning convincingly and completed the comeback for the Warriors from 3-0 down to rescue a crucial draw which will keep them in touch with the teams above them.

The Frecheville Vulcans on the back of an eight game unbeaten run going into tonight and lying in third place travel to the Wilton to take on the Wizards who are one of the three teams searching for that maiden victory.


(Match 1) Lee Slack 1-3 Matt Grey

Lee Slack for the Wizards started off the night against Matt Grey in a match which saw both men starting well managing to both hold for the opening three legs to which saw Grey go 2-1 up, In the fourth leg Grey saw an opening on the Slack throw and took his chance well winning the game with a 21 dart leg to take a 3-1 victory and put the Vulcans in front.


Anthony Warne
(Match 2) Andy Spencer 0-3 Anthony Warne

In game two Anthony Warne of the Vulcans looking to put his side further in front faced Andy Spencer. Warne broke the Spencer throw in the opening leg. Warne doubled the lead soon after hitting a 21 darter on throw. Spencer had the darts in the third leg to pull it back but couldn't do it as Warne put in a solid performance winning the game in another 21 dart leg to double the Vulcans lead.


(Match 3) Matthew Simons 0-3 Chris Grey

With the Vulcans two up, Matt Simmons was looking to keep Wizards in touch as he faced Chris Grey, Grey started with a hold of throw which put him in front. Simons was looking to equalise but Grey had other ideas as he threw in a 21 dart leg to go two up and throw for the game in which he dually did with his best leg of the night hitting a 13 darter to close the game out and put the Vulcans 3-0 up and cruising.


(Match 4) Sarah Gregory 0-3 Dave Ward

Dave Ward was fourth player on and looking to seal it for the in form Vulcans as he faced Sarah Gregory. Ward quickly broke throw in the first leg to take the lead, following that Ward controlled the game from start to finish as he took a 3-0 victory finishing in 20 and 18 darts respectively to win the game for the Vulcans and we've still got two to play.


(Match 5) Tony Casril 0-3 Daz Layden 

Match five saw Tony Casril and Daz Layden toe the oche in a match which saw Daz Layden continue his good form in this league so far. Layden kicked off with a hold of throw, in the second leg Layden was on song as he hit a 15 dart leg finishing with a 120 (Shangai) checkout and he rubbed salt in the Casril wounds taking the victory, finishing in 19 darts to make it 5-0 to the Vulcans. 


(Match 6) Michael Slack 0-3 Steve Whyers

In the final game of the night Steve Whyers was looking to completely finish off the Wizards as he took on Michael Slack. The match started slow but Whyers managed to get to the double first against the throw and took it out to win the first leg. The second leg saw more of the same which followed Whyers again taking the leg and put himself one away to finish off the night which he did on the second break of throw to wrap up a near perfect performance from the Vulcans who stretched their unbeaten run to nine and strengthen their grip on third place in the league table.

Back at the Woodbourne we saw a Woodbourne derby take place with the leaders still soldiering on at the top of the pile with 13 wins out of 13 take on the Wolves who are without a win in five with only one draw coming from them games.


(Match 1) Jon Smethurst 0-3 Owen Cubitt

We start off with the "Ice" Owen Cubitt who's going from strength to strength in this league and learning all the time facing Jon Smethurst for the Wolves. "Ice" started the night well holding throw to go in front, the second leg started and Cubitt showed maturity beyond his years as he broke throw which took the wind out of Smethurst. The third leg followed with young Cubitt taking the victory to put the leaders in front.


Jelger tuinstra
(Match 2) Sue Edwards 0-3 Jelger Tuinstra

"Sue, Sue, Sue" Edwards was up next for Wolves as she faced a tough task in Jelger Tuinstra, Jelger kicked off with a 19 dart leg against throw, He then quickly doubled his lead to set himself for victory which he got with ease sailing in with another 19 dart leg against the darts showing that he put a very consistent performance. 


(Match 3) Pat Finney 1-3 Greg Beard

With the scores at 2-0 to the Black Eagles Greg "Big Shot" Beard was looking to heap more misery on the Wolves as he took on Pat Finney. The first leg Beard steadied himself to take the lead, on the Finney throw "Big Shot" stepped up a gear and fired in a 17 darter with two maximums to go with it. Finney showed a mini fightback in the third as he broke back to give himself a chance but Beard finished him off in the fourth leg to seal the win and put his team three up. 


Dave Hemsworth
(Match 4) Simon Sawford 2-3 Dave Hemsworth 

Simon Sawford and Dave Hemsworth played out the closest game of the contest when the two players locked horns in match four. Sawford looked a clear favourite as he stormed to a 2-0 lead hitting a 20 darter against the throw, that seemed to give Hemsworth the boost he needed and he came back, breaking then following that up by winning the fourth leg in 19 darts for it to go to a last leg. In the final leg Sawford had the darts to win but Hemsworth showed all his courage and completed the comeback from two down to win the game 3-2 and win it overall for the Black Eagles. 


(Match 5) Antonio Cruz 0-3 Tom Briggs 

In the fifth match with the Black Eagles already claiming victory, Tom Briggs was looking to put another score on the board as he faced Antonio Cruz. Briggs had the darts which he started the better of the two and went one up, Briggs piled on the pressure in the second leg which Cruz wilted and Briggs pounced to double his lead, Cruz then knew he had to break to stand any chance but Briggs was aiming for the finishing line which he finished off in the third leg to defeat Cruz and keep the leaders winning run going.


(Match 6) John Edwards 0-3 Trevor Burkhill 

The Wolves captain John Edwards was the final player to try and grab anything as he faced Trevor "Turbo" Burkhill. Edwards had the throw in which he tried to get the advantage but Burkhill punished him with a 21 darter to take the lead, Edwards knew now he had a mountain to climb with "Turbo" smashing in another 21 dart leg to go two up, now in what was the final leg of the night Trev managed to finish off the captain and his team in the third leg to claim victory and give the leaders a 6-0 win in this Woodbourne derby.
