A new year and a new round of opponents as the sides look to come back from the winter break strong and hopefully without a case of the January blues. We start off in Chapeltown as previous league leaders The Hustlers look to try and reclaim top spot.
First up was Carl Farnsworth as he took on Mick Hulley, Farnsworth came out a 3-0 victor with Hulley not being able to conjour up any magic
Next up was Paul Harris (17) who played a good old fashioned game of hold your throw with Curtis Thorpe, Harris saved his best for the final leg with a 17 darter to put the hosts 2-0 up
The game of the evening goes down to Bri Jones (21) and Trevor Burkhill (17,18,18, 180x3), Trev started off with an 18 darter before Bri hit back with a 21, Trev then took the next two 18,17 respectively
Lee Cushworth and Russ Simmons (18,104c/o) took all 5 legs to decide the winner with Cushworth coming out victorious in the end

Burkhill and Waller put the match in the balance with their victory over Ikin and Jones that is until Harris and Farnsworth beat Thorpe and Simmons 2-0 to give the home side the victory

The Aces we’re looking to back top whilst the stallions are looking to distance themselves further from the bottom of the league whilst the warriors have their bye weeks
Lee Cropper (15,19,20,143c/o) took on Martin Baugh, it was Baugh who took the first leg before Cropper displayed the form that has seen him called up to Derbyshire County, taking the next three legs in 19,15,2o respectively and a 143 checkout to boot
Trevor Tye (20) beat Colin Johnson 3-1 with a 20 dart leg along the way
Becky Hoyland beat Anne Simmons 3-1 in the ladys battle
Mick Smith (15,110c/o) played out a last leg thriller against Sie Simmons (17), Simmons went 2-0 up but Smith came roaring back and saved his best til last with a 15 dart leg to take the victory

It was a case of the mixed pairs as Derbyshire duo Hoyland/Cropper beat Baugh/Johnson 2-0 before The Simmons’ beat Speed and Smith by the same scoreline putting a point on the board for the stallions and avoiding the whitewash

Kev Bird was first up against Pete Bramley (16), unfortunately Kev couldn’t take off as Pete won 3-0 with a 16 dart leg in the last
Chris Keane succumbed to3-0 Gav Pilling (180x2) with Gav hitting a brace of maximums
Laura Taylor was up against Ryan Goffin (17,18,134 c/o), Goffin made sure he was firing on all cylinders as he won 3-0 with 17 and 18 dart legs in the last two legs and a 134 checkout
Mick Bowers (16) put the only point on the board for the Wolves as he beat Tom Sawford 3-0 with a 16 dart leg in the second

The pairs both went in the way of the away side Howsham/Bird lost out to Higgs/Pilling 2-0 whilst Taylor and Bowers lost in a last leg shootout to Bramley and Goffin

Steven Caley was up first against Jpe Hopkins(180), Caley won 3-0 despite hitting a max
James Thomas came out on the wrong side of a 3-0 game to Nathan Hennessy
Glynn Harris (21,180) lost out to Adam Warner (14,19,180) 3-1 with an excellent array of legs and arrows from both players with Warner showing too much in the last two legs for Harris to handle
Mick Swift beat Ste Smith 3-0 to level it up at 2-2

Warner and Hennessy took on Caley and Sproston and came out 2-1 victors
Last up was Swift and Harris who took on Wright and Lewis, with the scores level at 1-1 Mick Swift took out 141 to win with the away pair on 300+ and level it up at 3-3 on the night
