Week 10 Is the reverse week with the teams able to size up their opponents from the week before
Headquarters is where we start as The Aces will still be looking to try and go top whilst The Wolves have their own points tally on their minds.
First up was “Crackpot” Chris Keane who was trying to replicate the good run of form his professional doppelganger is having, unfortunately it wasn’t to be as Chris Mason shirt enthusiast Mick Smith (180,16) won 3-0 with a max and 16 dart leg to seal the deal
Kieran Potts was next up against Lee Cropper (20,21) but the result went in favour of the away side courtesy of 20 and 21 dart legs
Laura Taylor succumbed to Ian Speed’s charm and prowess as she lost 3-1
Mick Bower (180,20) made sure he got a point for his side hitting a max and 20 dart leg in his 3-1 win over Becky Hoyland

Keane and Bird had no answers to the questions asked by Speed and Smith as they ren out 2-0 winners
It was a game of dart ja vu as the last pairs was called out as Bower and Taylor took on last weeks foes in Cropper and Hoyland, unfortunately history wasn’t going to repeat itself any further as the away side clinched the 2-1 this time resulting in 5-1 to The Aces

Anne Simmons fell 3-0 to Bri Jones (20) and last weeks winner Martin Baugh couldn’t replicate his form of last week as he lost out 3-1 to Adam Chadwick

Geoff Higgs got the home side to a great start with a 3-0 Victory over Nicola Bruce
Pete Bramley (18,180,116c/o) Saw off “The Wizard” Ian Webster with the same 3-0 scoreline with an 18-dart leg a max and a 116 checkout
Ryan Goffin beat Paul Brittle 3-1 with Brittle taking the first leg before “The Manic” took the next 30
Gav Pilling despatched Angie Brittle 3-0 with a deuce of 21 dart legs to put the home side 4-0 up at the break

Off we go to The University Arms as The Academicals hosted The Panthers
Stephen Godfrey was first up for the home side who were looking to overturn last weeks result but he just fell short as Curtis Thorpe 3-0
Ste Smith fell by the same 3-0 scoreline to Dave Cliffe
Conal Doughty was next up against Trevor Burkhill (14,20x2) be he could only watch as Burkhill went 20,14,20 against him although pushing him in every leg
Tom Wright was the only Victor for The Academicals as he beat Mick Hulley (180) 3-1 despite Hulley hitting a max

Doughty/Hennessy 0-2 Burkhill/Thorpe Smith/Wright 1-0 Waller/Cliffe
Doughty and Hennessy took on Burkhill and Thorpe but came up against in form duo as they won 2-0
Last up was smith and wright against Waldorf and Statler aka Waller and Cliffe, Wright tried to take his victory into the pairs and nearly did so forcing it into a last leg shootout unfortunately the result went the way of The Panthers

Panthers Pounce on Academicals

Week 9 sees a full fixture list as the sides get back in action after the river don and the floods caused havoc the week before
First of all, we head out to Derbyshire, Newbold to be precise as the Aces look to go top of the league if results go their way.
First up was Mick Smith against Kieron Potts, with Smith getting the win 3-0 putting the hosts one nil up
Lee Cropper (16,20) beat Laura Taylor 3-1 with Cropper taking the first leg in 20 before Taylor equalised, Cropper then took the next to legs and finished the game off with a 16 darter.
Mick Bower (180) made sure the aces didn’t have it all their own way by beating Ian Speed 3-0 with a 180 along the way
Becky Hoyland won 3-0 against Kev Bird meaning the home side were 3-1 up going into the pairs

Both pairs games went all the way as Speed and Tye took on Keane and Bird with the home side coming out on top
While lastly it was a game of mixed doubles as Hoyland and Cropper took on Taylor and Bower with the latter gaining the last point on the board meaning they were crossing the border with 2 points

The Cueball Hustlers were looking to keep top spot in the league as they took on The Riverside Stallions
Carl Farnsworth was first up against Colin Johnson, with Farnsworth taking the victory with a 3-0 whitewash
Nigel Ikin (20,21) Started off with a 21-dart leg against Sie Simmons before Simmons levelled up at 1-1, Ikin then took the next leg in 20 before winning the last Leg to make it 3-1
Lee Cushworth hustled Anne Simmons with a 3-0 win before Martin Baugh (180) got the visitors a point on the board with a 3-1 victory over Paul Harris

Harris and Farnsworth took the first singles over The Simmons’s 2-0 before Cushwoth and Ikin beat Johnson and Baugh 2-1 to ensure that the Hustlers stay on top for another week at least

A Rotherham derby sees The Warriors take on The Railwaymen
Nicola Bruce was up first against Pete Bramley (19) unfortunately she couldn’t do anything to stop “Perfect Pete” as he came out 3-0 victor and a 19-dart leg on the way
Next up was Paul Brittle (114 c/o) who got the only point on the board against Alan Jackson, after going 2-0 Brittle saw a resurgence from Jackson who levelled it up before Brittle made his throw count and took the last leg to make it 3-2
Ryan Goffin (19,21) saw off Barry Brittle 3-0 with 19 & 21 dart legs giving little Brittle no chance
Gav Pilling also despatched Ian Webster by the same scoreline 3-0 to put the away side 3-1 up at the interval

It was a case of night school for The Academicals as they had a lesson in darts from The Panthers
Trevor Burkhill (180,14,19,21) Gave Conal Doughty a lesson in how to get an 83+ average with a 180 and 14,19,21 dart legs
Curtis Thorpe came from 2-1 down to win 3-2 against Nathan Hamsey
Mick Hulley (139c/o) won 3-1 over Jack Lewis with a 139 checkout along the way
Russ Simmons (20) won 3-0 against Adam Warner with a 20 darter to take the last leg

The Panthers rolled the old boys out to teach the “young uns” a lesson in the pairs as Graham Waller and Dave Cliffe beat Doughty and Lewis 2-1 in the first game.
Trevor Burkhill and Pat “The Decrepit Landlord” Meeson took on Warner and Hamsey coming out with a 2-0 victory and all 6 for The Panthers
