Super Stacey Smashes In League Record

We kick Week 9 off with the leaders Woodbourne Black Eagles travelling to the University Arms to take on The Academicals.


(Match 1) Brad Clowery 2-3 Tony Darlow

The first game of the night saw Uni Arms' Brad Clowery nearly pulling off a shock as he faced Tony "The Tiger" Darlow. "The Tiger" started well by winning the first leg on throw in 21 darts. Clowery replied in kind also achieving a 21 dart leg, finishing with a 73 checkout on the bullseye to level. In the third leg Darlow edged in front again this time with an 18 darter and a 119 finish, back came Clowery equalising for the second time to take the game to a decider. In the deciding leg it took Darlow all his experience to hold his nerve and hit the winning double to take victory 3-2 and put the leaders in front.


(Match 2) Ed McCosh 0-3 John Walton

Uni captain Ed McCosh was up next for the Academicals, standing in his way was former World Champion John "Boy" Walton. "John. Boy" kicked off with a 21 darter against the throw to take the early advantage. In the second leg Walton continued the form firing in a 17 dart leg which McCosh had no answer to. Walton wrapped the game up convincingly in the third leg to give the Black Eagles a 2-0 lead.

(Match 3) Max Orange 1-3 Steve Briggs

In the third match Max Orange returned to the Uni side but he faced a mammoth task against Steve Briggs. Briggs couldn't have wished for a better start as he rattled home a 15 dart leg and a maximum to open the scoring. Briggs then broke Max's throw in the very next leg to go 2-0 in front but just as everyone thought Briggs was going to achieve a whitewash victory Orange pulled one back but it was only a consolation as Briggs composed himself and took victory in the fourth leg to win 3-1.


(Match 4) Danny Hall 0-3 Micky Stocks

Danny Hall was next up for the Academicals looking to grab something from the game as he faced Micky Stocks. Stocks started with an 18 dart leg against the throw to go infront. He then fired in a 15 darter which saw a 104 and a 116 checkouts which set himself up to take victory in the third and final leg but was hard pushed all the way by Danny who was twice sat on a double which ultimately gave the Black Eagles the victory with still two to play.


(Match 5) Jonny Kirk 0-3 Dave Hemsworth

Jason Burkhill,Micky Stocks Black E
In Match 5 of this onslaught by the Black Eagles, Dave Hemsworth was looking to keep the winning run going as he faced Jonny Kirk and what a job Hemsworth did looking confident after winning the first two legs he won the match in style hitting a 15 darter with a 97 finish to win the game 3-0 and put Black Eagles 5-0 up on the night.


(Match 6) Tom Wright 0-3 Tom Briggs

In the final game two youngsters went toe to toe as Tom Wright faced his namesake Tom Briggs. Briggs raced out of the traps with a 17 darter against the throw in the first leg to go in front and from then on it was all Briggs as he ran out clear victor with a 3-0 victory to wrap up a 6-0 win for Jason Burkhills men and keep the long winning run going.

John Daniels then hit a 143 C/O and wrapped up at least a draw for Pete Seniors men with a win over

Terry Temple then extended the lead beating Ryan Goffin and Brad ellis came close to beating yorkshire legend Tony Hull but going down 3-1 and the score for the game at five zip.
Tony Harper won the last game beating John Lieber to make it 6-0 to the Allstars and a valient effort by the Panthers

(Match 1) Neil Bradley 3-1 John Edwards

The first game of the night saw Wolves captain John Edwards already under a bit of pressure knowing that he had to win under the circumstances take on Neil Bradley. The first leg saw Bradley take the lead against the throw then in the following leg heaped more woe for the Wolves captain as he went 2-0 in front but after a mini fight back from Edwards, it wasn't enough as Bradley ran out 3-1 winner. 


(Match 2) Rich Swainston 3-0 Jon Smethurst 

Aces Rich Swainston
Rich Swainston was up next for the Aces as he took on Jon Smethurst. Swainston flew out of the blocks taking out a 15 dart leg on throw to go in front. Swainston wasn't finished their as he broke the Smethurst throw comfortably in the second and rounded the match off with a flourish winning the game with a 16 darter to put the Aces 5-0 up overall with only one to play.



(Match 3) Ian Speed 3-1 Pat Finney

The third and final game of the tie saw Ian Speed looking to finish off the Wolves against Pat Finney. In the first two legs of the game saw both men break each other's throws to level at one each but that's when Speed took the initiative and put Finney under pressure with solid darts which Finney couldn't cope with and in the end Speed earned a 3-1 win and give the Aces a runaway 6-0 victory.

Bottom of the table Wizards were looking to make ground on the teams above them as they travelled to the Milton to take on the Magic.

(Match 1) Lee Cushworth 3-0 Martin Pell

The night started off with Milton's Lee Cushworth taking on Martin Pell in a match which saw Cushworth breaking throw in the first leg to take the lead and he continued in that vain all he way through Pell just couldn't match him as "The Darting Demon" won comfortably 3-0.


(Match 2) Chris Keane 3-1 Tony Casril

Chris "The Blade" Keane was next up against Tony Casril. Both men started well sharing the opening two legs. Keane then took out a 98 to take a 2-1 lead. Casril never really recovered after that as Keane walked away with a 3-1 victory to put the Magic 2-0 in front.


(Match 3) Steven Marfleet 3-0 Michael Slack

Match 3 of the night saw Michael Slack looking to put a chalk on the board for the Wizards as he faced Steve Marfleet. Marfleet set off like a steam train as he broke throw to take an early lead. In the second leg Slack looked for a fight back but it never materialised as Marfleet took out the winning double to set himself up in the final leg where he won the game with a 19 darter to extend the Magic's lead.


(Match 4) Gav Markham 3-1 Lee Slack

Next up was Gav Markham up against Wizards Lee Slack who was looking to keep his team in with a shout but things didn't start well for Slack as Markham took the first two legs hitting a 19 dart leg in the process. Slack managed a mini fight back breaking the throw back in the third leg but Markham wasn't fazed by that has he took victory in the fourth leg finishing off with another 19 dart leg to win 3-1 and gain victory for the Magic.


(Match 5) Chris Markham 3-0 Sarah Gregory

With victory already assured for the Milton it was Chris Markham who went into battle with Sarah Gregory, In the first leg Markham managed to go in front breaking throw and never really looked back as he cruised to victory by three legs to nil.

(Match 6) Lester Bowers 3-1 Simon Simmons

In the final match of the night Lester Bowers took on Simon Simmons. It was a game that saw Simmons break throw in the first leg to threaten a shock but after Bowers equalised to make it one each their was only ever going to be one winner as Bowers notched up his game and it was enough to seal a 3-1 victory and give the Magic a resounding 6-0 win.

In a top end of the table clash at the Cumberland we had fifth placed Sausages take on the Vulcans who at the start of play were one place and one point above their opponents.


(Match 1) Mark Ellis 0-3 Steve Stacey

The night kicked off with some fantastic darts by Vulcans Steve Stacey who set the bar for the rest of the others to follow against Mark Ellis. Stacey started off by hitting a maximum to set himself up for a 12 dart finish which he took out with ease to win the first leg, then in the next leg Stacey continued to pepper that treble 20 allowing him to take out a huge 148 finish to go further in front and to round off a fantastic set of darts, Stacey won the game with a 15 dart leg to secure a 3-0 victory over Ellis and finish with a 112.72 average which wouldn't be out of place in the professional ranks to give the Vulcans an early lead.


(Match 2) Matt Pryor 2-3 Chris Grey

In the second game of the tie with the standard already set we saw the Sausages Matt Pryor take on Chris Grey looking to equalise for Cumberland. Pryor couldn't have asked for a better start to the game racing into a 2-0 lead doing so by hitting a 19 dart leg. Then we saw a mammoth fight back from Chris Grey out of nowhere Grey broke the throw back with a maximum and finishing in 18 darts. In the fourth leg Grey continued by equalising with a 20 dart leg to bring the game into an unlikely decider which Grey managed to complete the comeback by hitting a 19 dart leg to win the match and give the Vulcans a 2-0 lead which didn't look likely at the start of the game. 


(Match 3) Pete Bell 0-3 Daz Layden

Match three saw the Cumberland landlord Pete Bell looking to keep his side in with a chance of victory as he took on Daz Layden. Layden kicked off his quest with a 16 dart leg to take the lead. The second leg of the game saw Daz hit a maximum to set himself up to finish the leg in 17 darts against the throw to go 2-0 up. The third leg saw Layden complete a very consistent performance by winning the game in 18 darts and given his opponent Pete Bell no chance.


(Match 4) Ben Dolman 3-2 Michael Grey

Another closely fought match took place as Ben Dolman of The Sausages took on Michael Grey. Dolman kicked off the game by winning the first two legs and broke throw to leave a bit of breathing space for himself and he did need it as Grey started on the comeback trail as he won the darts back in the third leg then brought the game into a decider as he held his own throw for the first time. In the final leg though Dolman managed to play like he did in the first two legs of the game and took out the decisive double to win the match in five legs and pull a game back for his team as both players played steady darts throughout.

(Match 5) Steve Ewington 3-0 Jim Smith

With the scores at 3-1 to the Vulcans it was up to Sausages' Steve Ewington to keep his team in with a shout of a draw as he faced Jim Smith. Ewington kicked off his bid by breaking throw in the first leg to take the lead then casually followed suit by holding throw in the second to grab a stranglehold on the game in which he cooly finished off in 19 darts to seal the victory which he didn't give Jim Smith a chance as he forced the match into a decider.


(Match 6) Kev Blogg 1-3 Anthony Warne 

The deciding match of the night saw Vulcans Anthony Warne looking to wrap it up for the Vulcans against Kev Blogg who was looking to complete the comeback on his debut for the Sausages. Warne welcomed Blogg into the league by breaking his throw in the very first leg of the game then he managed to hold throw and hitting a 180 to take a 2-0 advantage. Blogg managed to pull a leg back to put Warne under pressure but it was Warne's night as he rounded off the match slotting in the winning double to take victory 3-1 and give the Vulcans a 4-2 victory.

The Railwaymen who start the night in sixth place was looking to put pressure on the top three with victory over a Warriors side looking to climb off the bottom of the table.


(Match 1) Jodie Bruce 0-3 Martin Scott

The night started in perfect fashion for the Railwaymen as Martin Scott faced Jodie Bruce and Scott quickly took the first leg then broke the Bruce throw in the second to give him the confidence to go on and wrap up the first game by hitting the winning double to give the Railwaymen the lead.


(Match 2) Sandra Webster 0-3 Mark Gurran

The Warriors Sandra Webster was next up as she faced Mark Gurran and Gurran showed no mercy as he quickly broke the throw to go in front and he never really looked like losing as Sandra tried but couldn't manage to keep in touch as Gurran ran out a comfortable victor.

(Match 3) Barry Brittle 0-3 Tom Gurran

The younger Gurran was next up and he faced Barry Brittle who was looking to keep the Warriors in touch. Just as in the game before Tom started the better and after winning the first leg he broke the Brittle throw in the second. Barry tried to mount a fight back but it wasn't enough as young Tom took victory and put the Railwaymen 3-0 in front.


(Match 4) Nicola Warne 1-3 Pete Bramley 

With the Warriors 3-0 down going into the fourth game of the night it was up to Nicola Warne to keep the Warriors in the game as she faced Pete "Perfect" Bramley. It was Bramley that struck first as he broke throw at the start of the game to go 1-0 up. In the second leg Pete found good consistency as he fired in a 19 dart leg to double the advantage. Warne upped her game in the third to pull one back to give herself a chance but Bramley managed to wrap up the win by three legs to one to give Railwaymen victory and close the gap on the top three. 


(Match 5) Paul Brittle 0-3 Gav Pilling

Paul Brittle versus Gav Pilling was the penultimate match of the night with the game already won Pilling could relax and it showed as he took the first leg on throw. Brittle tried to equalise but he couldn't stop Pilling hitting an 18 dart leg to go 2-0 in front. Brittle knew he had to find a way to break the Pilling throw but to no avail as Pilling rounded off a good performance to win without dropping a leg.

(Match 6) Steve Newton 1-3 Jordan Payne

In the final match of the night, Warriors Steve Newton was looking to snatch a consolation point as he faced Jordan Payne, Newton got out of the blocks well as he took the first leg on throw, Payne then equalised to level. In the third leg Payne threw a 180 on his way to checking out it 17 darts to take the lead for the first time and that's all the confidence he needed as he reeled off the last leg to secure himself a 3-1 victory and give the Railwaymen a 6-0 win overall.

University Academicals Ready For A Fight

Ed McCosh and his team will be more than up for tonight's game against the Black Eagles and all wanting to have a bite at the league leaders and it could be a classic.Milton Magic will be looking to get back to winning ways as they play the travelling Wizards in the local derby.John Edwards takes his Wolfpack to the Newbold to play the Aces and the Railwaymen will travel to Worthing Rd to play Barry Brittle and his team of Warriors.The other two games are real nail biters as 2nd play 3rd with 5th hosting 4th.Allstars will be hoping the superstar status remains intact as they play the Panthers in what is the game of the week.Vulcans travel to play the Sausages at the Cumberland and again looks a pearl of a game.

We kick off week 8 of the Leadmill Darts Franchise League with second placed All Stars looking to keep pace with the leaders at home to the Academicals who were looking to pull away from the bottom 3.

(Match 1) Carl Wilkinson 3-0 Adam Warner

The night couldn't have got off to a better start for the All Stars when Carl Wilkinson faced Adam Warner. Wilkinson broke throw in the very first leg of the night with a 21 dart leg and their was more to come when he followed it up with a 16 darter to go 2-0 up and in what was the final leg Wilkinson rounded off a good performance hitting a 19 darter to defeat Warner 3 legs to 0 and give the All Stars the best possible start.


(Match 2) Jonny Daniels 3-0 Oli Newell

Jonny Daniels was next up for All Stars looking to put his team further in the lead against young Oli Newell and Daniels didn't disappoint has he kicked off hitting a 17 dart leg to give himself the lead then he followed with the first maximum of the night then back to back nineteen dart legs to seal the victory.


(Match 3) Daz Johnson 3-0 Jack Lewis

PDC player Darren Johnson was third on to toe the oche up against Jack Lewis who was looking to keep Academicals in touch but in the first leg he already found it was going to be a difficult task as "DJ" hit a nice 14 dart leg and a 180. Johnson rounded off victory with a 19 darter to seal a 3-0 victory and put the All Stars 3-0 up.


(Match 4) Tony Hull 3-0 Matt Eardley

Fourth game of the night saw Tony Hull run rings round Matt Eardley kicking off with a 20 dart leg then broke throw in the second leg with an 18 darter to set himself up for victory which he clinched by finishing in another 20 darts to seal victory in a very good consistent performance to guarantee the All Stars the victory with still two to play.


(Match 5) Kenny Hoult 1-3 Connor Bowler 

Match five started with the game already won for the All Stars it was up to the Academicals to try and pull the score back and rising PDC youngster Connor Bowler was next up and he started brightly taking the first leg in 18 darts, Hoult replied holding throw to bring the game level at 1-1 but then Bowler stepped it up taking the third leg in sixteen darts with a ninety five finish then rounded the game off hitting a seventeen darter to take victory to grab a consolation for his team.

(Match 6) Tony Harper 3-0 Declan Parsons

In the final match of the night Tony Harper was looking to round off a great performance for the All Stars as he faced Declan Parsons. Harper started well taking the first leg then after that he raised his game to another level taking the second leg in 16 darts then he finished the night off in style starting with a score of 85 he then followed it with back to back 180's to set himself a target of 56 which he took out with ease to win the game in 11 darts to give the All Stars a 5-1 victory, a great achievement by Harper and a quality finish to the night.

Over at the Woodbourne the league leaders and the only unbeaten team left in the league Black Eagles faced a mid-table Magic side looking to push up the table. 


(Match 1) Simon Birkett 3-0 Lester Bowers

Simon Birkett kicked off the night in steady fashion with a 20 dart leg for the Black Eagles against Lester Bowers. Lester couldn't muster up a reply as Birkett sailed home comfortably without reply to give the Black Eagles an early lead.


(Match 2) Steve Briggs 3-1 Gav Markham

The second game of the night saw Steve Briggs up against Gave Markham. Both men kept throw in the opening legs of the game but then Briggs kicked in with a 19 dart leg to take a 2-1 lead. In the fourth leg against the throw Steve then took the game with a good 17 dart leg to win the match 3 legs to 1 and put the Black Eagles 2-0 up.

(Match 3) John Walton 2-3 Chris Markham

Next up was arguably the match of the night in terms of drama as former world champion John "Boy" Walton played Chris Markham with the scores at 2-0 to the Black Eagles, Markham knew he had to pull something out of the hat to keep his team in the game and he started well holding the throw in 17 darts to take the lead. Walton replied in kind hitting a 15 dart leg finishing with a 111 checkout to level the scores, the third leg saw Walton take the lead for the first time overturning the break of throw to go 2-1 up but back came Markham in the fourth leg hitting a maximum and finishing in 21 darts also against the throw to bring the game into a classic finale, both men started the deciding leg well but as soon as they got to the finishes the nerves started to kick in and then after 24 darts each it was Markham who stepped up and finish the match taking out the winning double to seal a 3-2 victory for himself and bring Magic back into the game at 2-1.

(Match 4) Jelger Tuinstra 3-0 Steve Marfleet

After everyone settled back down into what they've just saw it was Jelger Tuinstra up against Steve Marfleet in the fourth game of the night. Jelger kicked off holding the throw to take an early lead. In the second leg he steeped it up hitting a 19 dart leg and a 118 finish to go 2-0 infront. Marfleet was searching for a comeback but it never came as his opponent ran away with it in the third leg to seal a 3-0 victory and put his team 3-1 up.





(Match 5) Pete Daffin 3-0 Paul Harris

"Super Daff's was next up looking to seal victory for the leaders as he faced Paul Harris. Daffin started steadily but did enough to take the first leg against the throw, he then followed it up by hitting an 18 dart leg to take a 2-0 lead with Harris looking for a comeback Daffin slammed the door shut as he comfortably ran out a 3-0 winner to give the Black Eagles the victory with one to play.


(Match 6) Greg Beard 3-0 Chris Keane

In the final match of an unforgettable night at the Woodbourne Greg Beard was on good form against Chris Keane who tried but in vain to keep in with a shout. After "Big Shot" took the first leg he then went into over-drive after hitting a 19 dart leg against the throw he then won the game in style achieving two maximums and finishing the night off with a 13 dart leg to seal a 3-0 victory and with it give the leaders a 5-1 win on a memorable night of darts.

(Match 1) Jordan Payne 3-1 Mark Ellis

The night started well for the Railwaymen as Jordan Payne kicked it off with back to back 17 dart legs to set the standard for the nights matches. Mark Ellis managed to compose himself to reply with a 19 dart leg to pull it back to 2-1 but Payne weren't to be denied as he took out the winning double to cap off a good performance winning the game 3 legs to 1 and put Railwaymen in front.


(Match 2) Mark Gurran 3-2 Ben Dolman

Second game of the night saw Mark Gurran face Ben Dolman in a closely fought duel which didn't look like it at the start after Gurran took the first two legs of the match. Dolman managed to break throw back in the third then equalise on his own throw to level the scores at two a piece but it was Gurran in the final leg that managed to sneak over the line and win the game to give Railwaymen a 2-0 advantage.


(Match 3) Martin Scott 3-2 Ben Beardmore

Martin Scott was next up for the Railwaymen against Ben "Boom" Beardmore in another closely fought contest. Scott raced out of the blocks breaking throw in the first leg of the contest with a 17 dart leg. "Boom" broke back straightaway with a 19 darter to level the scores then Ben hit the turbo finishing in 15 darts to take the advantage but Scott weren't to be denied as he equalised hitting a 21 darter to bring the game into a deciding leg which Scott cooly finished off winning the game 3-2 in a match where both men took the lead in and no-one deserved to lose.

(Match 4) Gav Pilling 3-2 Steve Ewington 

The fourth game of the night saw Gav Pilling looking to wrap up the win for his team against a tough nut to crack in Steve Ewington as it showed early doors when Ewington broke the throw in the first leg to take the lead but after Pilling won back to back legs it looked a foregone conclusion but then Ewington hit back to level the scores at 2-2 which brought a deciding leg for the third consecutive game which saw Gav Pilling hold it together to take a 3-2 victory and with it give his team the outright victory on the night.


(Match 5) Andy Bradbury 3-0 Shaun Greenfield 

With the game settled up next was Andy Bradbury looking to keep the winning run going for the Station up against Shaun "Croc" Greenfield. Bradbury raced out of the blocks breaking throw straightaway to take the lead and he never looked back after taking the second leg, he wrapped up victory to give the Railwaymen a 5-0 lead.

(Match 6) Pete Bramley 3-1 Matt Pryor

The final match of the night Pete "Perfect" Bramley was looking to finish off the Sausages as he faced a tough opponent in Matt Pryor. After both men held throw in the first two legs Bramley managed to win the third leg in 20 darts to take a 2-1 lead. He then managed to break the Pryor throw in the fourth leg to seal a 3-1 win and give the Railwaymen a 6-0 victory.

Over at Frecheville, third played fourth as the Vulcans faced The Panthers on an eventful night of darts with only one point separating the two teams before the game it was looking too close to call in this cracker of a match.


(Match 1) Anthony Warne 2-3 Brad Ellis

First game of the night saw Vulcans Anthony Warne up against Panthers Brad Ellis and what a start to the night it was with Warne kicking off with a maximum and a 15 dart leg against throw to take the lead, he then followed it by taking the second leg to go 2-0 in front. Brad Ellis managed to get himself back in the match by hitting a 21 dart leg in the fourth leg of the match by finishing with a 140 to level the scores and in the decider Ellis completed the comeback winning the contest with a 20 dart leg to give himself a 3-2 victory and give Panthers the early lead.


(Match 2) Steve Stacey 3-1 John Lieber

Steve Stacey was next up for the Vulcans looking to level as he faced a strong opponent in John Lieber. Stacey kicked off taking the first leg on throw then managed to step up a level breaking the Leiber throw by hitting a 21 darter to take a 2-0 lead. Leiber managed to pull a leg back in the third but it was Stacey's night as he finished off with a 180 setting himself up to win the match with a 20 dart leg to equalise for the Vulcans.

Vulcans Chris Grey

(Match 3) Chris Grey 3-0 John Schultz 

Third match of the night with scores level at one a piece Vulcans Chris Grey played Panthers John Schultz. Grey kicked the match off with a 21 darter against the throw to take the lead. The second leg started like the first with Grey taking the initiative and carrying on where he left off winning the leg in 18 darts with a 108 finish to set himself up for the match and he took full advantage walking away a 3-0 victor to give the Vulcans the lead for the first time of the night.



(Match 4) Daz Layden 3-2 Ryan Goffin

In the fourth match it was up to Daz Layden to guarantee that the Vulcans wouldn't lose this game but he was up against a fierce competitor in Ryan Goffin in what was a thrilling contest which saw four maximums. Layden held throw in the first leg hitting a 19 darter to take the lead. Goffin replied in the second leg hitting two 180's and finishing in 14 darts to equalise. Goffin then took the lead breaking the Layden throw hitting his third max of the contest and finishing in 18 darts. Daz wasn't finished though as he soldiered on in the fourth leg himself hitting a maximum and finishing in 17 darts to take the game to a crucial decider which Layden continued his form managing to hold throw in the decider to win a brilliant contest and give the Vulcans a 3-1 lead with two remaining.

Mick Hulley(Panthers)

(Match 5) Matthew Grey 1-3 Mick Hulley

Match five saw Mick Hulley trying to keep the Panthers in the game against Matthew Grey. Hulley started the game strong with back to back 20 dart legs to race clear but as Grey pulled a leg back breaking throw in the process, Hulley managed to keep his focus though and finished the game off taking out the winning double to give himself the victory and keep the Panthers in with a shout going into the final match of the night.




(Match 6) Jim Smith 1-3 Russ Simons

As the contest entered it's final game of the night and the scores at 3-2 to Vulcans. The Panthers Russ Simons knew only a win would do to rescue a draw for his team. He raced out of the traps hitting a maximum and followed it with a 17 darter against the throw to go in front. He continued in the same vain of form in the second leg when he edged further in front. Smith threatened a comeback with a 20 darter to reduce the defect but it was Simons' night as he warapped up the 3-1 win in the fourth leg to complete the comeback and rescue a draw for the Panthers.

Newbold Aces travelled to the Wilton on a four game unbeaten run to face a Wizards team looking to drag themselves away from the bottom.


(Match 1) Martin Pell 1-3 Ian Speed

Martin Pell started proceedings for the Wizards against Aces Ian Speed. Both men started well taking a leg each, Speed then raced in front keeping throw and managing to hold off Pell in the fourth to grab a 3-1 victory to give the Aces an early lead.

(Match 2) Claire Thom 0-3 Mick Smith

Up next for the Aces was Mick Smith looking to extend the lead against Claire Thom. Smith broke the throw in the first leg in 21 darts then he followed it up by winning the second leg too. In the third and final leg of the match Smith managed to hit a maximum followed by another 21 darter after taking out a 110 finish to round off the game and give the Aces a 2-0 advantage. 




(Match 3) Tony Casril 0-3 Neil Bradley

Neil Bradley of the Aces was looking to add to the tally as he faced Tony Casril. Bradley took the first leg breaking the throw and as the match wore on Bradley improved every leg and Casril couldn't get to grips with the game as Bradley took the victory.


(Match 4) Michael Slack 0-3 Rich Swainston 

In the fourth match of the night Michael Slack faced Rich Swainston looking to keep the Wizards in with a shout but Swainston had other ideas. Rich kicking off hitting a 15 dart leg against the throw and then in the very next leg held with a 16 dart leg to go 2-0 in front with Slack having no comeback Swainston romped home and hit the decisive double to win the game for the Aces.


(Match 5) Sarah Gregory 1-3 Trev Tye

Sarah Gregory was looking to put her mark on the game by taking on Trev Tye  but she found herself slow out of the blocks and Tye took an early 2-0 lead and after Gregory threatened a comeback breaking the throw back in the third leg of the contest, Tye wrapped up the victory to give the Aces a 5-0 lead.

(Match 6) Lee Slack 3-1 Jordan Fisher

The final game of the night saw Lee Slack take on Jordan Fisher. Slack took the first leg on throw with Fisher immediately replying with a 21 dart leg. In the third leg Slack managed to take the lead again and this time he wasn't going to leg go as he took victory in the fourth leg to win 3 legs to 1 and grab a consolation for the Wizards.

Back at the Woodbourne we saw a Woodbourne derby as two teams still searching for their first wins battle it out as the Wolves who started the night bottom of the table face the Warriors who were two places and 5 points above their opponents.


(Match 1) John Edwards 3-1 Paul Brittle 

We kick off with the battle of the captains as Wolves John Edwards faced the Warriors Paul Brittle. Edwards broke throw in the very first leg of the night to take the lead but Brittle broke straight back to level the scores. Then in the third leg the third straight break of throw so Edwards take the lead which this time he wasn't going to let it slip as he finished it off in the fourth leg taking out the winning double as the captain got the Wolves off to a perfect start.

(Match 2) Sue Edwards 3-1 Angie Brittle 

The second game of the night saw the captains wives do battle as Sue Edwards faced the Warriors Angie Brittle. Angie started well breaking throw in the very first leg to take the lead, back came Sue in the second breaking straight back to level the scores, Sue then managed to take the lead in the third leg for the first time which gave her the platform to defeat Angie in the fourth leg by a 3-1 scoreline to put the Wolves two up.





(Match 3) Jon Smethurst 3-0 Sandra Webster

Third on the oche was Jon Smethurst against Sandra Webster. Smethurst started the better of the two players breaking throw to go in front, Webster tried to keep with him but Smethurst was just too strong as he ran out a 3-0 winner.


(Match 4) Steve Naisbitt 0-3 Steve Newton 

Steve Naisbitt was up next looking to win the contest for the Wolves but he faced a good player in Steve Newton which showed after Newton broke throw in the first leg, Naisbitt tried to keep with him dart for dart but Newton was just too strong as he ran a 3-0 winner to give the Warriors a bit of hope in salvaging something from this game.


(Match 5) Pat Finney 3-2 Nicola Warne

Pat Finney and Nicola Warne battled it out in a tightly fought contest which could've gone either way with every leg going against the throw. Both players exchanging blows right from the off as the match went down to the final leg it was Warne who was down to the double first, but she just couldn't managed to finish off Finney who dug deep and sealed the victory taking out the winning double to snatch the win from the jaws of defeat.

(Match 6) Tom Sawford 3-1 Ian Webster

The final match of the night saw a Wolves debut for Tom "Shooter" Sawford as he faced Ian Webster. They were no early nerves for the youngster as he won the first leg on throw. Webster hit back in the second leg equalising to level at 1-1, after that Sawford took it up a gear and after he took the third leg, Tom saw an opening in the fourth leg and took his chance to seal a 3-1 victory for himself and give the Wolves a 5-1 victory overall.
