The Tiger and the Undertaker back with a BANG!!!

We kick off the nights action at the Woodbourne Hotel where the leaders put their 100% record on the line against the Academicals who have yet to taste victory this season.


(Match 1) Owen Cubitt 3-1 Adam Warner

First up was youngster Owen "Ice" Cubitt taking on Adam Warner in a game which saw Cubitt open with a 20 dart leg to kick off, he then followed by holding throw in the second leg. Warner responded in the third but Owen wrapped up the game in four by finishing in 18 darts to give the Black Eagles the lead.

(Match 2) Tony Darlow 3-0 Matt Eardley

Matt Eardley was next on for the Academicals taking on "The Tiger" Tony Darlow with Darlow throwing first he kicked off with a fantastic 12 dart leg with a max thrown in to lay down a marker for his opponent to follow. Eardley couldn't keep touch with "The Tiger's" big scoring as Darlow romped to victory with some great darts thrown in to put the leaders two up.

(Match 3) Jelger Tuinstra 3-0 Tom Hogg

The third game of the match saw Jelger Tuinstra looking to add to the Black Eagles tally facing Tom Hogg. Tuinstra didn't disappoint as he broke in the opening leg with a 19 darter, Tuinstra kept the form up in the second as he hit another 19 to double his lead and leave Hogg with a mountain to climb. Jelger managed to finish off the match cooly hitting a 21 darter against the throw to put the Black Eagles in full control of the contest.

(Match 4) John Walton 3-0 Ed McCosh 

With the Black Eagles cruising it was former World Champion John "Boy" Walton who was looking to seal the win against Academicals captain Ed McCosh. Walton had the darts in which he took full advantage of taking the lead with a 19 darter. The best leg was yet to come as Walton took the second leg in 14 darts to break McCosh, which set himself up for the third in which Walton took out a steady 21 to win the match and give the Black Eagles the win with two still to play.

Declan Parsons
(Match 5) Tom Briggs 0-3 Declan Parsons 

In the fifth match of the night Academicals Declan Parsons was looking to make the scoreline more respectable for the Academicals taking on Tom Briggs. Parsons started well holding in the opening leg to go in front. On the Briggs throw he just couldn't get going and Parsons managed to break to double his lead and put him in control of the contest as he finished the match off in three to pull a game back for the Academicals.

(Match 6) Pete Daffin 3-0 Greg Batting

"Super Daff's" finished off the night for the home side facing Greg Batting. Daffin kicked off with a 20 darter to take the lead, On the Batting throw Daffin broke hitting a 19 to double the advantage, in what was the final leg of the night 'Super Daff's' rounded off a good performance winning the match in another 20 darts to secure the whitewash for the Black Eagles which kept them sparing clear at the top.

Over at the Station the Railwaymen who started the night in third and on a four game unbeaten run take on the Warriors looking to pull away from the bottom of the table.


(Match 1) Pete Bramley 3-0 Barry Brittle 

The night kicked off with Pete Bramley taking on Barry Brittle in a game which saw Bramley in fine form breaking throw in the opener to take the lead and he never really let Brittle in as he registered a maximum along the way to a 3-0 win to open the Railwaymen's account for the night.

(Match 2) Mark Gurran 3-0 Jodie Bruce

In the second game Jodie Bruce stepped up for the Warriors looking to equalise against Mark Gurran. The first leg was a steady one for Gurran as he held to go one up. He then found his stride in the second as he broke the Bruce throw which led him on his way to finishing convincingly to put the Railwaymen two up. 

(Match 3) Glen Payne 3-1 Angie Brittle 

Glen Payne was on third for the home side against Angie Brittle. In the opener Brittle managed to hold throw to put herself in the lead but it didn't last long as Payne swiftly levelled then managed to break in the third which put him in command in the match ad before you knew it Payne wrapped up the win in four.

(Match 4) Martin Scott 3-1 Nicola Warne

The fourth match on saw Warriors Nicola Warne looking to keep her team in with a shout but she faced tough competition in Martin Scott and so it proved as Scott opened with a hold of throw. Warne responded with an equaliser but then Scott stepped it up a gear and ran away with the game eventually winning in the fourth leg by taking out a 15 darter to give the Railwaymen victory with two to play.

(Match 5) Jordan Payne 3-2 Steve Newton 

In game five saw the closest match of the night with Jordan Payne taking on Steve Newton. The match kicked off with Newton holding throw as to which Payne responded to equalise, the following two legs saw both men throw steady darts as to which brought the game to a fifth and final leg with Newton having the darts looked the favourite considering they were no breaks up until this point but that's when Payne threw his best to take out the win in the decider to put the Railwaymen five up.

(Match 6) Gav Pilling 0-3 Paul Brittle

In the final match Paul Brittle of the Warriors was looking to stop the rot against Gav Pilling and he managed to make the perfect start breaking throw to put him in front. Pilling was looking to respond but Brittle held to go two up and with his confidence high Brittle wrapped up a three nil win to grab a consolation for the Warriors which nudged them a further point clear of the bottom team as the Railwaymen steamed on consolidating third by extended their unbeaten run to five.

It was fourth versus fifth at Frecheville as an under-strength Vulcans entertain the Sausages with just one point separating the two teams before tonight in what promises to be a close run contest.


Jimmy Haslam
(Match 1) Paul Meeham 1-3 James Haslam

In the opening match Vulcans Paul Meeham faced James Haslam with both players hoping for a good start for their team, Haslam kicked things off with an 18 dart leg on throw to open the scoring. Meeham hit back equalising in the second to level up. Haslam kept his cool throwing well as he held again to go 2-1 up and in the fourth leg Haslam found an opening as Meeham didn't start the leg well and Haslam managed to win it in 20 darts to put the Sausages one up. 




(Match 2) Andrew Payling 0-3 Ben Beardmore 

The following match saw Ben "Boom" Beardmore looking to double the Sausages lead play Andrew Payling. "Boom" started with an 18 darter against the throw which put Payling on the back foot early on. Beardmore then fired home a 20 to double his lead with Payling looking on "Boom" finished off confidently with a 17 darter to put the Sausages two up with some clinical finishing in all three legs.

(Match 3) Joseph Gregg 0-3 Shaun Greenfield 

Joseph Gregg was third up for the Vulcans trying to keep his team in the game against Shaun "Croc" Greenfield. "Croc" had the darts in the first leg and he went one up. Gregg was looking to hit back straightaway but Greenfield stopped him in his tracks and with some steady darts "Croc" broke and went two up and from then on it was plain sailing as Greenfield took out the winning double in the third leg to wrap up the win with two to spare.

Jim Smith
(Match 4) Jim Smith 3-1 Matt Pryor 

With the match wrapped up after three games Jim Smith played Matt Pryor looking to grab some points for the Vulcans but things didn't get off to a good start for Jim as Pryor broke throw in the opener. Smith broke straight back to equalise and from then on Smith took control as he went 2-1 up after the third leg then Smith went on to take the win against the Pryor throw to effectively bring the game back to 4-1.







(Match 5) Mick Swift 3-0 Ben Dolman 

In the fifth and last match of the night Mick Swift was looking to pull another game back for the Vulcans as he played Ben Dolman, Swift had the darts in which he held in the opening leg, Dolman was looking for a repeat but Swift quickly took the darts in the second leg and got down to the double in which he took out to put himself 2-0 up and throwing for the match which he did with confidence to win 3-0 but the Sausages won the tie 4-2 overall.

In the other match played at the Woodbourne it was the Wolves who lost three out of the last five taking on the Aces with three wins on the spin and were looking to make inroads to the top four in the table.


(Match 1) Chris Keane 0-3 Andy Umney 

We start with "The Blade" Chris Keane for the home side against a tough opponent in Andy Umney. Umney had the darts and kicked off with a 180 and a 15 dart leg which set him on the way. Umney broke The Blade in the second leg and Keane ran out of chances as Umney wrapped up a 3-0 win to put the Aces in the lead.

(Match 2) Pat Finney 0-3 Matt Needham

Matt Needham was next up for the Aces facing a lacklustre Pat Finney. Needham took advantage of Finney's poor start to break his throw in the opener which knocked the confidence right out of his opponent. The second leg saw Needham take out a 20 dart leg to go 2-0 up with Finney throwing to stay in the game Needham wrapped up the match in the third leg to make it 2-0 in double quick time.

(Match 3) Simon Sawford 2-3 Ian Speed

Next up to toe the oche was Wolves Simon Sawford up against Ian Speed in a topsy turvy tussle. It started with Sawford breaking in the first leg hitting a 180 in the process, Speed managed to break straight back with some good darts but then in the third it was Sawford with the third consecutive break of throw which put him favourite for the match, Speed once again retaliated to make the game two each which made him throw for the match which he already lost twice but this time Speed held it together to defeat Sawford in a tight affair to make it three for the Aces at the halfway point.

(Match 4) Jon Smethurst 1-3 Neil Bradley

In the fourth match of the night Neil Bradley was looking to give the Aces the victory against Jon Smethurst and he started with a break of throw in the opener as to which Smethurst replied in kind to make it 1-1, Bradley continued to put Smethurst under pressure as to which he cracked and Bradley took full advantage to win the match in four and give the Aces the win with two matches remaining.

(Match 5) Steve Naisbitt 2-3 Trev Tye

With victory secure Aces Trev Tye played Steve Naisbitt in game five, Naisbitt started the game with a break of throw to go one up as to which Tye came back at him with back to back legs. Naisbitt managed to hold throw to stay in the game but in the decider it was Tye who found another gear to win in 19 darts to make it five on the spin for his side.

Mick Smith
(Match 6) Tom Sawford 2-3 Mick Smith

The final match of the night saw Tom "Shooter" Sawford looking for a consolation point for the Wolves against Mick Smith who was looking for the clean sweep in a quality battle. "Shooter" kicked off with a 180 and finished the first leg in 18 darts to take the lead. Smith equalised in the second leg to keep throw. Sawford once again pummelled the treble 20 bed to hit another maximum which set him on the way to another 18 darter to put him 2-1 in front. Smith once again managed to hold his throw in the fourth leg to bring the match into a fifth and final leg of the night which saw Sawford throw first but he couldn't repeat the previous legs where he threw first and Smith found his best form for last as he threw in a 14 darter to win the match in an exciting finale to the nights action.
