In the final match of a short night and with the result still in the balance Hawks Steve Ewington needed a win to finish it off as his opponent Simon Chivers was searching to save an unlikely draw for the Pirates. It was Ewington who started the better and held in the first leg, he then followed it with a break of throw to go two up and to throw for the match. It was up to "The Landlord" Pat Meeson to equalise as he faced Martin Scott but he didn't really get going as Scott took the opener. On the Meeson throw Scott played really well to break taking out an 18 dart leg and a ton finish to give him the win to put the leaders two up.

In the third match Panthers Russ Simons really needed to get something going for his side as he took on Steve Brittle. The match started with a hold of throw for both players with Brittle hitting a maximum. Simmons took the third leg in 18 darts and with Brittle missing double 15 for a 150 finish it just wasn't to be his day despite playing well it was Simmons who got the job done to bring the Panthers back in the game.

In game four with the Panthers on the prowl a tight match was played out between Brian "The Messiah" Lewis and Mick Hulley. It was Lewis to start and held well to take the lead. Hulley took out a 21 in the next leg to level, Lewis has the throw in the third which he took out the double again to make it 2-1 which brought him on the hill. It was Hulley who needed to hold throw to force a decider in which he did then it was Lewis to throw for the match but Hulley brought out his best darts to the final leg and grasped victory with a 20 dart leg to bring the game back to two each.

The tie was in the balance as the fifth game approached as Pete "Perfect" Bramley fought John Schultz. It was Schultz's darts and he needed a good start but Bramley played well which saw him break throw then held in the second leg to make Schultz chase the game which he couldn't manage as "Perfect" took the match with a 180 and a 21 dart leg to win to give the Railwaymen a 3-2 lead.

In the sixth and deciding game of the night Railwaymen's Mark Gurran needed to take out Panthers captain "The Manic" Ryan Goffin to give his team the win. It was Gurran to start but he bumped into a Goffin who was in top form breaking the throw quickly in 19 darts, Goffin then held his own throw in the next leg hitting a 17 darter to make it two. Gurran was under pressure and it showed in the third and final leg of the night as captain Goffin rescued a draw for his team with another 17 dart leg to secure the win in three  to end the Railwaymen's winning start to the season.
