(Match 1) Trevor Burkhill 3-1 Pete Bell

We start the weeks action at the Woodbourne Hotel where the champions Black Eagles face fifth in the table Sausages. Trevor "Turbo" Burkhill got us underway against Pete Bell. In the opening leg of the night Bell started us off but he didn't get off to the best start and as a result "Turbo" took the lead with an 18 darter, Trev had the darts in the scone leg which saw him hit a 21 dart leg to make it two. Bell responded with a hold of throw to keep him in the contest but it was Trev who finished the game off in four finishing with a solid 15 darter to put the champions in front.

(Match 2) Jelger Tuinstra 3-0 Ben Dolman

In the second game Ben Dolman was searching for an equaliser as he played Jelger Tuinstra. It was Tuinstra with the darts and he quickly set his stall out early hitting a 17 darter to get off the mark. Tuinstra continued where he left off in the second leg breaking the Dolman throw finishing in 21 darts to make it two, Jelger saw the finishing line in the third leg as he didn't step his foot off the gas as he recorded a maximum rounding off a good performance with another 17 dart leg to secure the win which made it 2-0 to the Black Eagles.

(Match 3) Pete Daffin 3-0 Matt Pryor

"Super Daff's" Pete Daffin was third on for the home side as he faced Matt Pryor. Daffin was in fine form breaking in the opening leg with a 15 darter. In the second Daffin held finishing in 19 which put Pryor in all sorts of trouble. Pryor needed to find something to keep in the game but it wasn't to be as Daffin proved too strong for his opponent and ran out a 3-0 winner to make it three in three for his team.


(Match 4) John Walton 3-2 Marc Ellis

It was the turn of "Tiny" Marc Ellis in the fourth game looking to keep the Sausages in the game versus former World Champion John 'Boy' Walton in a tight affair which could be gone either way. Walton opened and quickly took the lead with a 21 dart leg. Ellis replied with a leveller to make it one each. In  the third leg the former World Champ once again nudged in front managing to hold for the second time. "Tiny" wasn't going to lie down as he had the darts in the fourth Ellis managed to hold off Walton which forced the decider. John Boy had the darts and the experienced edge which proved crucial in the end as Ellis ran out of steam and Walton won the match with a 19 darter to finally finish him off and it won the Black Eagles the match with to still to play.

(Match 5) Greg Beard 3-1 Steve Ewington 

In game five with the leaders celebrating the win Greg Beard went up against Steve Ewington. Beard set off like a train opened his account with a 21 dart leg which broke the throw of Ewington. "Titan" then continued in the same vein on his own throw doubling his lead with a 20 darter. Ewington had to dig something from somewhere otherwise it would be finished early as he managed to squeeze in a maximum followed by a 21 darter of his own which pulled it back to 2-1 but Beard held out and saved his best until last taking victory in 18 darts to make it five out of five for the home side.

(Match 6) Owen Cubitt 3-0 Dawn Priestley

In the final match of a solid night for the Black Eagles. Dawn Priestley toed the oche looking for some respectability for the Sausages as she played youngster Owen "Ice" Cubitt. "Ice" showed no mercy as he started off with a 19 dart leg to put him in front. Priestley had to hold in the second leg to stop Cubitt from running away with the game but she couldn't do it as "Ice" broke throw which set him on his way to finish off the match in three which gave the champions the whitewash victory.

(Match 1) Andrew Payling 0-3 Lee Cushworth 

Over at Frecheville the Vulcans host Panthers who were aiming to get back into the top three. We start with Andrew Payling for the Vulcans up against Lee Cushworth. "Cushy" started with a 19 dart leg on throw to get us underway. Payling was looking to hold to level but Cushworth powered on as he hit another 19 dart leg to break and double the lead. "Cushy" rounded off a perfect start with a 90 finish to win it in 18 darts to put the Panthers in front.

(Match 2) Phil Lambert 1-3 John Lieber

The Panthers captain John Lieber was next up as he faced Phil Lambert. Lambert got off to the best possible start with a hold to take the lead. Lieber then kicked into gear and managed three consecutive 21 dart legs to take the victory and put his team two up.

(Match 3) Paul Meehan 3-1 Pat Meeson

In game three Paul Meehan and Woodbourne Landlord Pat Meeson went head to head. Meeson held in the opening leg hitting a 21 darter. Meehan replied in kind with a 21 of his own. In the third leg with the score level saw the turning point of the game when Paul Meehan broke the landlord's throw then finishing off in the fourth with a 19 dart leg to put the Vulcans back in the game.

(Match 4) Mark Barnes 3-2 Mick Hulley

With the Vulcans in with a sneak of a chance to claim a draw in this match Mark Barnes and Mick Hulley played out a tight battle in game four which saw both players hold their throws in all five legs played with Mick Hulley achieving a 109 three dart finish but it wasn't enough as Barnes hit a 21 dart leg in the decider to win the match to effectively keep the match alive going into the final game of the night.

(Match 5) Joseph Gregg 0-3 Russ Simons

In the final match of the short night between the two teams Russ Simons was looking to seal the win for the Panthers against Joseph Gregg. Simons started with a hold to take the lead. Gregg needed to keep in touch but as the leg wore on Simons siezed his chance and broke throw to which he only had to hold to win and he did just that to fend off the fightback and finally win it for the Panthers to prove hat their dip in form is over.

(Match 1) Barry Brittle 0-3 Andy Umney

In the second match which took place at the Woodbourne bottom of the table Warriors took on the Aces who started the night in third looking to put pressure on second place. Barry Brittle stepped up for the home side to start us off against Andy Umney. Umney held in the first leg to settle any nerves he had, Brittle needed ta lift but Umney broke his throw in the second leg and it was inevitable when Umney took the victory in three to open the scoring for the Aces.

(Match 2) Angie Brittle 1-3 Dave Belfitt

Angie Brittle and Dave Belfitt squared off in game two in a match which saw both players break in the opening two legs of the match. Angie had the darts in the third leg to nudge in front but it was Belfitt who took the leg which made him throw for the match in which he did to secure himself the win to put the Aces two up.

(Match 3) Steve Newton 3-2 Ian Speed

After two matches the Aces were on the up as Ian Speed took on "Hero" Steve Newton. It was "Hero" who started the better of the two breaking throw in the opener then managing a hold to make it count, Speed needed to pull something out of the hat and fast which he did finding a 180 in the process of bringing the game to two each. Speed was on the up going into the decider and he had the darts which made him favourite but Newton had other ideas holding his nerve he took out the double to win the game in five to keep the Warriors in the contest.


(Match 4) Nicola Warne 1-3 Matt Needham

It was up to Nicola Warne on game four to keep the match alive for the Warriors as she played Matt Needham but things didn't go so well for her as Needham took the opening two legs, Warne did well to hold throw to bring it back to 2-1 but the damage was already done as Needham finished off the match on throw to make the score 3-1 to the Aces.

(Match 5) Jodie Bruce 0-3 Mick Smith 

Aces were sensing victory and in match five Mick Smith faced Jodie Bruce looking to finish it off. He started well holding in the opener. Bruce had the darts in the next leg to respond but Smith broke her throw and it was all over after three as Smith secured the victory to give the Aces the win with one to play.

(Match 6) Paul Brittle 0-3 Trevor Tye

Warriors captain Paul Brittle was the final player on against his opponent Trevor Tye with the match already over Brittle was looking to keep the score respectable but he didn't get off to the best of starts as Tye opened with a break of throw. Tye kept the pressure on in the second leg an held to make it two. Brittle needed a hold to stand any chance of staying in the match but he couldn't match Tye for scoring as Tye wrapped up the win to give the Aces a 5-1 victory overall to keep them third in the league standings.

(Match 1) Ben Chivers 3-2 John Edwards

We end the weeks action at the Wilton where two out of the three bottom teams went head to head as the Wizards take on the Wolves. Up first was Ben Chivers for the Wizards playing against Wolves captain John Edwards. It was a solid opening for both players as every leg played went against the throw. Chivers always had the upper hand of the game as he always led and also taking out a 116 finish on his way to defeating the Wolves captain in a last leg shootout to put the Wizards in front.


(Match 2) Anne Lofthouse 3-1 Jon Smethurst 

In game two Jon Smethurst was looking to equalise for the Wolves as he played Anne Lofthouse. The game started with both players getting off the mark with holding their throws. Lofthouse took the third leg to make it 2-1, Smethurst knew he had to hold again but the pressure got to him and Lofthouse took advantage and ran out 3-1 winner to make it two to the Wizards early on.

(Match 3) Lee Slack 3-0 Samantha Renshaw

It was the turn of Wolves new girl Sam Renshaw thrown in at the deep end as she needed to win to keep her team alive in the match as she faced Wizards captain Lee Slack. It was Slack who got off to a confident start taking the opener, Samantha had the darts in the second leg to level but Slack broke throw to put him in command as he rounded off the match in three to give the Wizards the win with just two to play.

(Match 4) Martin Peel 2-3 Simon Sawford

The tie was over after three matches as Martin Peel faced Simon Sawford in match four. Sawford broke throw in the first leg but Peel soon pegged him back to take the lead. Sawford dug in and in the fourth leg he brought the game level again to make it a decider in which Peel threw first but Sawford carried on from where he left off in the last leg to secure the victory in five to grab a consolation point for the Wolves.

(Match 5) Sie Simmons 3-1 Antonio Cruz 

In the fifth and last match of the night Antonio Cruz toed the oche for the Wolves against Sie Simmons. In the first few legs both men broke throw then Simmons took the crucial third leg to throw for the match in which Cruz was looking to keep in the game but it was Simmons who finished off the night with the win to give the Wizards a resounding victory which saw them leapfrog their opponents in the table.
